At the Veterans of Foreign War’s State Convention, Topaz Post #3630 and its Ladies Auxiliary won the National Award for community service.

The auxiliary also came home with two overall certificates and money for community service and publicity.

They also won first place in their division for scholarship, Buddy Poppy, Voice of Democracy and youth essays, youth activities, legislative and cancer aid and research programs and second place for membership, national home, junior girls and hospital and Americanism projects.

“We want to thank all the people who participated in buying the tickets,” said Jacqui Mobley of the auxiliary. Topaz Post and Auxiliary won for selling the most tickets, which goes into their relief fund to help needy people within our community. Daryl Mobley won for selling the most tickets.”
