Topaz Lake Fire Department to hold barbecue Sunday
Guests at the Topaz Lake Volunteer Fire Department annual barbecue on Sunday will be able to take a close-up look at the CareFlight helicopter. Chief Bob Gable said the helicopter will be parked on the south pad at the station, located at the intersection of Mark Twain and Comstock.
The helicopter will be at the station from noon to 2 p.m., along with crew members who will answer questions and talk to the public about how CareFlight operates.
The public is invited to the fund-raiser from noon to 6 p.m. which will feature 800 pounds of deep-pit barbecue beef. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12 and can be purchased at the door.
“Doc” Holiday and his band will offer live music. A full bar, soft drinks, raffle drawings, auctions door prizes and a special drawing for $500 will round out the afternoon.
