The R-C Morning Report for Nov. 25

by Kurt Hildebrand

Genoa, Nev. — Black Friday shopping has been wide open since Thursday, but not much else is. Local and state offices are closed for “Family Day,” as are the banks and the post office. The R-C will be open inside its special bunker around the back.

One thing opening today is Kirkwood Mountain Resort, according to its web site. Tracking that thing is always an adventure, but it looks like this is it.

A wind advisory kicks off 4 a.m. Saturday, bringing 15-30 mph winds and 55 gusts out of the southwest through 4 p.m. It’s not going to be exactly still today, with the breeze blowing 10-15 mph, increasing to 15-20 mphin the afternoon. Look for gusts of up to 40 mph.

The weather graphic says snow likely on Sunday, but I wager there won’t be much, and it sounds like what there was is being revised downward. It should be enough to mess up the passes though.

Other than the wind, expect mostly sunny skies today with a high temperature of 54 degrees. It’s chilly out this morning at 23.
