The R-C Morning Report for Jan. 30
Don’t be surprised if we lose power this morning. We had a pretty big brownout right around 6:43 a.m., and if the wind picks up at all, it could mean the lights going out.
There’s an injury accident on Interstate 580 just north of the Carson City line. According to the NHP web site, it happened at 6:20 a.m. in the southbound lanes. Expect a bumpy commute this morning most places, but especially through Washoe Valley and at Lake Tahoe.
There was a big swarm of about two dozen earthquakes northeast of Virginia City starting around last night with the last one I show at 3:42 a.m. with the largest a 3.1 at 2:30 a.m.
Today’s forecast is for rain and snow showers turning to snow at 10 a.m. Today’s high is forecast to hit 39 degrees as winter comes blasting back.
