The R-C Morning Report for Aug 17
More than 500 pairs of free specs to watch Monday morning’s eclipse have already been snapped up from the Douglas County Public Library. They’ve got more today, but they’re going fast, even at one pair a customer.
Today’s Douglas County commissioner meeting is going to be a short one, supposedly. Among the items on the agenda is the award of a $195,283 contract to build the Martin Slough Trailhead. Commissioners meet 1:30 p.m. today at the Tahoe Transportation Center in Stateline.
The mosquito sprayers have already been flying this morning and will be fogging near Westwood tonight if their schedule holds. If I get something new, I’ll post it to the twitter feed.
More of the same on the weather front today, with the high hitting 89 degrees under sunny skies and the wind out of the northwest at 5 mph shifting to the northeast later this morning.
