The R-C Morning Report for Aug. 16
A mother and daughter are safe after a man reported 2:30 p.m. Tuesday they’d drowned when he lost track of them at Nevada Beach for 25 minutes. It turns out they weren’t even in the water. Tahoe Douglas firefighters suggest making sure people pay attention to where their loved ones are recreating by setting a water watch.
Douglas County Mosquito Abatement will be flying on Thursday morning spraying north and west of Westwood, and then ground fogging the same area of Minden on Thursday night.
We had a 1.2 quake down in Antelope Valley just east of Walker at about 1 a.m. this morning. I suspect it’s related to the larger shaker down around Mammoth Lakes recently.
We might just crack 90 today under sunny skies. The wind will be out of the west at 5 mph shifting northeast later this morning.
