The Oct. 30 R-C Morning Report
The number of Douglas County residents voting early or absentee cracked 10,000 on Monday. That amounts to more than a fourth of the 35,236 active voters in the county.
Early voting is open again today through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Douglas County Courthouse. Voters may also cast a ballot at the Gardnerville Ranchos Fire Station on Mitch 1-5 p.m. today. Remember any voter may cast a ballot at any open polling place throughout the election.
Today is the deadline to request a mail-in ballot from the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office. You don’t need to have a reason to receive a mailed ballot. If you’re 65 or older, or self-identify as disabled for whatever reason, you can request a permanent mail-in ballot. Ballots must be back to the clerk by 7 p.m. Election Day to be counted.
Expect sunny skies and a high temperature near 56 degrees today with the wind calm picking up out of the east at 5 mph in the afternoon.
