The Oct. 26 R-C Morning Report
Happy Nevada Day holiday today. State and local government offices are closed, but the mail is running and you would be hard put to find a closed bank, though there might be some.
Early voting continues today and Saturday at the historic Douglas County Courthouse. They’re open the full day today and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
So far, 7,766 people have cast a ballot this election with nearly 5,100 of those in person through early voting. More than a fifth of the county’s active voters have participated in the process.
Carson Valley Community Theatre production of Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap” opens tonight and will run all weekend. The times are in The R-C’s calendar, on stands now only $1.
A fire weather watch kicks in 1 p.m. Sunday as the weather turns back to autumn. With gusty winds of 30-45 mph expect the Weather Service to raise the red flag for critical fire danger.
At 78 degrees, today will be the fourth warmest day of what has been a very warm October, so far. There will be a light breeze out of the southwest. Expect more of the same on Saturday
I’m signing off from the video morning report for a couple of days early next week in anticipation of the next step in my treatment. I plan to post written morning reports each day.
