The Oct. 16 R-C Morning Report

Genoa, Nev. — Today is the last day you can register in person at the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office to vote. You can still register online through Thursday using the link to the Secretary of States Office at Remember to click all the buttons that apply on the front end of that page, or it will bounce you out.

Early voting starts 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Douglas County Courthouse in Minden. The R-C’s General Election Guide publishes Thursday. Early voting wraps up Nov. 2 and Election Day is Nov. 6.

Douglas County commissioners are scheduled to tour the route of Muller Lane Parkway 9 a.m. today in preparation for a Nov. 1 discussion on modifying development agreements with landowners to get the thing done by 2024.

Carson Valley Medical Center is offering free flu vaccinations at their health fair 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The center is located at 1107 Highway 395 at Virginia Ranch Road in southern Gardnerville.

It’s 19 degrees at Minden-Tahoe Airport this morning. You don’t have to go very high up Kingsbury to double that temperature, according to an NDOT thermometer at 5,400 feet, which is reading 38 degrees this morning. Expect 64 degrees today under sunny skies. The afternoon will see 5-10 mph winds out of the northeast, gusting to 20 mph in the afternoon.

This is the last morning report that will carry a Genoa dateline for a while. I’ll continue them from Sacramento for as long as I’m able. Forgive me if they trail off for a bit while I’m undergoing treatment. I expect to be home in time for the Parade of Lights, packing a camera and a notepad.
