The Oct. 15 R-C Morning Report
Genoa, Nev. — There’s a freeze warning through 9 a.m. today and the low hit 16 degrees at Minden-Tahoe Airport. It’s a tad warmer in the Ranchos at 21 degrees and actually above freezing on Kingsbury
As if it weren’t bad enough it’s cold, there’s a lake wind advisory at Tahoe. Expect 10-20 mph winds, gusting to 30 mph. Wave heights of up to 3 feet are expected along the west shore.
If you haven’t pulled in your plants, or disconnected your watering system, or rescued your boat, that ship has sailed. I expect there will be some fire alarms today as burst pipes start to thaw.
Today is the deadline for the Clerk’s Office to mail sample ballots. If you haven’t received one, it might be a good idea to check your registration at govotedouglas.com. You can update your registration or register online through Thursday. Early voting starts Saturday.
Expect sunny skies with a high near 62 degrees. There won’t be much wind today, with 5 mph out of the east in the afternoon.
