Genoa, Nev. — As of Tuesday night, 4,633 Douglas County voters have cast a ballot in the General Election. That represents about 12 percent of the total ballots sent out by the Douglas County Clerk-Treasurer’s Office. In-person early voting begins 10 a.m. Saturday at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center.

A zoning map amendment and planned unit development overlay for a 190-unit project off Toler Lane was approved by planning commissioners on Tuesday. A request to alter the master plan for 40 acres off East Valley was denied. It still goes before the Douglas County commissioners.

A 15th person related to the Douglas County School District has turned up positive for the coronavirus, Superintendent Keith Lewis told school board trustees on Tuesday. He said none of the cases appears to have been contracted in the district.

Douglas Emergency Management reported nine new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday bringing the total for the county up to three-dozen active cases, 324 recoveries and one death since mid-March.

It looks like we’ll have another mild autumn day today with sunny skies and the high in the upper 70s. Expect a gentle breeze to pick up out of the northeast around 5 mph this afternoon.
