The Nov. 8 R-C Morning Report
Around three-score veterans attended Gardnerville Elementary School’s assembly and another dozen were at Sierra Lutheran High School on Wednesday. The schools are getting a head start on Veterans Day observances.
The Douglas County Community & Senior Center runs the flag up its brand new flagpole 10:30 a.m. today in Gardnerville. They’ll start gathering at 10 a.m.
We’re still a month out from Pearl Harbor Day, but tonight Naval artist Wayne Scarpaci will talk to members of the Douglas County Historical Society about the attack 6 p.m. at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center. Admission is $3 for nonmembers.
If you’re going to the flag raising wear a coat, because it’s going to be chilly today. The forecast high temperature is 51 degrees, but I bet it’s not that warm out. The breeze will be out of the east at 5-10 mph.
