The Nov. 5 R-C Morning Report
More than 43 percent of Douglas County’s active voters have cast a ballot in the General Election. According to the Douglas County Clerk’s Office 15,377 ballots have been cast early or absentee.
Turnout is the percentage of active voters who turn out but there are also 3,382 inactive voters who can vote. The polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Any voter may cast a ballot at any Douglas polling place.
If you’re looking for a break from last-minute electioneering, Kat Simmons comedy class will be performing 7 p.m. tonight at the COD Casino. It’s free and commercial free.
October was not an auspicious beginning to the water year with only 41 percent of average for the Carson River Basin, with snow telemetry showing even the best sites at a fifth of an inch.
I’m not sure how I feel about turning books into sculptures, but if you’d like to learn Debbie and Rachel Lambin will be demonstrating the art 5-6:30 p.m. at the Douglas County Public Library in Minden.
It’s forecast to be a beautiful Guy Fawkes day in the Valley with mostly sunny skies and a high temperature of 66 degrees. The west wind will shift north later this morning.
