I expect the discussion on vacation housing rentals will result in some sort of task force designed to discuss the issue. County commissioners devoted two hours to the topic on Thursday, but with just a few meetings left before the board changes, it’s hard to say what will happen with the controversial issue.
Commissioners did lift a ban on employees turning left on Highway 395 from Airport Road among other HR housekeeping measures that they approved on Thursday.
Douglas County voters had the highest turnout percentage of absentee voters in the state, according to Clerk-Treasurer Kathy Lewis. At 91 percent return rate, the new mail-in ballots were the best thing since sliced bread.
They’ll be playing Turkey Bingo on Thursday at the CVIC Hall with the Kiwanis. St. Gall will be hosting Tish Hinojosa in concert on Sunday with the Carson Valley Arts Council. Those times are in the calendar.
