The May 16 R-C Morning Report

Genoa, Nev. — There’s a little bit of snow at Daggett Summit on Kingsbury Grade, but not enough to prompt road controls that way. Be wary of wet roads whether you’re driving in the mountains or in the Valley.

Chains or four-wheel drive is being required over Spooner Summit and on Highway 28 toward Incline Village. Road controls are in effect for Carson Pass, Echo Summit and Donner Pass through the Sierra.

County commissioners will be discussing the new rates for the unified water system today. County commissioners meet 1:30 p.m. at Stateline.

It’s raining pretty good in the foothills this morning. Minden-Tahoe Airport reports light rain and .02 inches so far. There was a 44 mph wind gust at the airport just before 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Rain’s likely to continue until 11 a.m. today when it tapers off. Expect the wind to pick up to 15-20 mph this afternoon, gusting to 35 mph. The high will hit 55 degrees today.
