The May 15 R-C Morning Report

Genoa, Nev. — Kingsbury Grade will be closed 9 a.m. to noon today as Carson City investigators re-enact the April 26 pursuit, shooting and capture of Bay Area triple-homicide suspect Stefon DeMar Jefferson. Jefferson is scheduled to appear in East Fork Justice Court today.

I’m checking on the condition of a man who was choking on Esmeralda Avenue on Tuesday night. That was the 5:30 p.m. call that drew East Fork rescuers away from the Sheriff’s Open House.

Hundreds of residents turned out for the Sheriff’s Open House on Tuesday night despite a lot of competition from the Minden Farmers Market and the FISH grand re-opening in the Gardnerville Ranchos.

The Sierra Chef Lampe Park Farmers Market is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in Gardnerville. Sierra Chef’s Genoa market is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Today there’s a 30 percent chance of rain under cloudy skies. The high temperature is most of the way to 64 degrees already this morning in the warm before the storm. Expect the wind to blow 15-20 mph, gusting to 30 mph this afternoon. Rain is likely after 11 p.m.
