The June 17 R-C Morning Report

Genoa, Nev. — Road construction on Foothill has reached Genoa with road controls in place between Mottsville and Genoa lanes. I expect that Genoa Lane is next, so anticipate delays through Nevada’s oldest town.
The real race is between road workers and Pony Express re-riders, who are due to ride along Foothill Road on Wednesday afternoon. Here’s hoping that road construction won’t slow down the mail. The mail arrived in Nevada at 6:25 a.m. today and is running less than an hour behind.
The trial in a Stateline hotel stabbing death will continue to plug along today. The jury’s only alternate juror was dismissed on Thursday morning, so now they’re just 12.
Expect sunny skies today with a high climbing to 88 degrees with light and variable wind becoming northeast at 5-10 mph in the afternoon.
