Genoa, Nev. — A motorcyclist is in critical condition after he went down an embankment on Highway 4 in far western Alpine County. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. Saturday.
The combined flu shot and coronavirus testing is 3-5 p.m. today at Whittell High School in Stateline. As of Saturday evening, there were 39 active cases in Douglas County, up from 24 on Oct. 1.
Early in-person voting continues 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today through Friday at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center in Gardnerville. For more information about voting, visit govotedouglas.com
Today, the clerk’s office will have the roving ballot box at Sunridge Fire Station 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at the Genoa Town Hall 3-6 p.m. You can also drop off the ballot you received in the mail at the Election Tent behind the Douglas County Courthouse in Minden all day.
It was picture day for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Battleborn Mounted Posse in Minden Park on Saturday as people enjoyed birthday parties and gatherings in the gorgeous fall weather.
It was a beautiful weekend, but even the longest summer has to come to an end sometime. The forecast has overnight temperatures dropping below freezing on Thursday and Saturday nights.
The snow level’s allegedly coming down to 5,700 feet on Saturday night. We’ll see if that comes to fruition, but by this time next week, highs could well be down into the lower 50s.
Enjoy the last warm days today through Wednesday, with the high expected to hit 81 degrees today. The wind will pick up 5-10 mph out of the northwest in the afternoon.
