Swing band set for Family Support Council dinner-dance
The lively Hyde Street Swing Session will provide music for the 17th annual Hearts and Flowers dinner-dance sponsored by the Family Support Council.
Auctioneer is Dr. Michael Fischer, and the grand prize is a diamond donated by Leonard Ludel, formerly of Gardnerville.
Although Ludel moved out of Carson Valley some years ago, he has been donating a diamond to the event since the beginning.
“Many other great prizes are donated by local businesses,” said Family Support Council board member Nancy Jackson.
The event will be held March 11, with a no-host bar at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. at the Carson Valley Inn.
Proceeds from the dinner-dance support the various programs offered by the Family Support Council, such as the crisis line for domestic violence, programs for women, children and families, support groups, parenting classes and the sexual assault program.
Tickets are $45 can be obtained at the Family Support Council office, 782-8692, by calling 782-4611 or at Beverly Realty in Gardnerville.
