Students sell raffle tickets

Staff reports

Students, helped by parents and faculty of Mt. Sierra Christian School, will sell raffle tickets for a drawing of many donated prizes this weekend in Gardnerville.

The students will sell tickets at Scolari’s, Raley’s and Smith’s from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Prizes in the drawing include a one-night stay and show package from Harveys Resort Hotel/Casino at Lake Tahoe, dinner for two at Fiona’s or Michael’s offered by the Carson Valley Inn, two tickets for a show at the Reno Hilton, $25 gift certificate from Fashion Attitudes and four free movie passes at Meadowdale Cinema, among the many other donated items.

The drawing will be held at the school’s annual Cinco de Mayo dinner May 8. Winners need not be present to win.

The school has set a goal of raising $5,000 this spring, and so far students have raised $2,500 through ticket sales.

Cost of the raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
