Students invited to enter History Day Contest
Students in grades 4-12 throughout Douglas County are putting the finishing touches on their projects for the National History Day contest sponsored by the Carson Valley Historical Society.
The contest will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Carson Valley Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395.
The theme for National History Day, 1998 is “Migrations.” Through research and projects, the students have developed this theme in different ways. Some have chosen written research papers and others are using models, games and group presentations.
Their work will be on display at the cultural center from Saturday, Feb. 28 until March 7. Prizes and awards will be presented at a special program beginning at 1 p.m. on Feb. 28.
The public is invited to observe the judging, view the projects and stay for the program.
