Spring classes get under way at WNCC
Residents can get started on fulfilling New Year’s resolutions at Western Nevada Community College’s newest campus in Minden. WNCC’s spring semester begins on Monday, Jan. 25.
People have the opportunity to enroll in a wide variety of classes offered at the WNCC Douglas campus. Spring semester courses include university transfer courses, personal enrichment, occupational and developmental courses, as well as community service classes.
In the well-rounded curricula available this semester, classes offered range from art to word processing, astronomy to music, English to speech and theatre, computer applications/computer information systems to construction, and crafts to humanities and philosophy. Other spring courses include the areas of management, criminal justice, counseling and personal development, human development and family studies, and law.
Flexible scheduling allows the student to choose evening times slots for classes in many ares of instruction. Saturday seminars and short-term courses are also offered.
Course schedules for the spring semester were mailed out in November. The 1999 Spring Schedule can be found at WNCC Douglas Campus, located at 1680 Bently Parkway South, Minden, or at the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, Douglas County Public Library, grocery stores and many Carson Valley businessman.
Registration is now in progress. Students may enroll by Touch-Tone Telephone Registration and Internet. Registration normally operates weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. And weekends from noon to 6 p.m., except on holidays, A worksheet is available in the WNCC spring course schedule.
