Soroptimist opens lunch to public; school board, candidates on tap

Soroptimist International of Carson Valley invites the public to its weekly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at noon at Two Guys from Italy.

This meeting will be devoted to hosting the Douglas County Board of Education trustees. They are composed of elected officials and include President Don Forrester, Vice President Dave Brady, Clerk Cheri Johnson, George Echan, Michelle Lewis, Randy Wallstrum and John Raker.

Additionally, Douglas County School Board candidates Randy Green, Veronica Hulsey, Jim Keagan, William Hulsey, Charles Pullen and Keith Roman will be present to discuss issues relevant to their campaigns.

Lunch is optional at $7.50, and there is always a seat available, member Didi Chaney said.

Soroptimist International of Carson Valley is part of a world-wide organization for women in management and professions working through service projects to advance human rights and status of women.
