Snowshoe Thompson Festival coming in June

Staff reports

The Carson Valley Historical Society’s 14th annual Snowshoe Thompson Festival will be held June 23-24 in historic Genoa’s Mormon State State Park.

The festival includes antiques and collectibles, arts and crafts and speciality booths, historical presentations, demonstrations and ethnic foods, raffle drawings and more.

Applications are now available for the arts and crafts section and the antiques and collectible area. The festival weekend rate is $50, which entitles vendors to a 10×10-foot reserved space.

“This year, we are cooperating with the Genoa Greater Business Association in a joint effort with their Snowshoe Thompson Committee to dedicate a statue of Snowshoe Thompson on the grounds of the Mormon Station State Park,” said spokesperson Mary Jane Harding.

For information and application for arts and crafts, contact Harding at 265-7074 and for antiques and collectibles, contact Grace Bower at 265-6097.
