Single parents support group formed
Single, alone, stressed, wondering if anybody else has to deal with the same balancing act as yourself?
Often single parents feel they have nothing in common with others. Not having someone to share household chores, family, friends, kids, sports and whatever other little surprises the day may bring may leave a single parent feeling isolated and overwhelmed.
Our intent at Family Support Council is to start a support group for single parents who are experiencing some of these feelings. If you know anyone who is feeling stressed over the needs unique to single parenting, have them contact the office at 782-8692 or drop by 1255 Waterloo Lane for more information.
The initial meeting will be held Thursday, June 22, 6:30-8 p.m. Free child care is offered on the premises, and pre-registration is required.
Cary Jackson is a parent educator at the Family Support Council.
