Sharon L. Burkett-Kunow
A celebration of life is 1 p.m. Saturday at Sharkey’s for Sharon L. Burkett-Kunow, 54, who died Dec. 14, 2010, at her home in Gardnerville.
Born April 21, 1956, in Los Banos, Calif., she became a Nevada resident in 1971. She graduated from Carson High School in 1974 and attended University of Nevada, Reno, for two years.
For 25 years, she was employed as an emergency dispatcher, first for the Carson City Fire and Sheriff’s departments and later for Nevada Division of Forestry.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Michael D. Burkett and her father, Larry D. Burkett
She is survived by husband Scott Kunow; mother Alicia Hart of Stagecoach; aunt Lois Biggs of Gilroy, Calif.; brothers Dean (Cathy) Burkett of Dayton and brother Rick Burkett of Stagecoach; nephews Robert Wilkins of Pocahontas, Ark. and Matthew Burkett of Southern California; niece Erin Fennel of Doyle, Calif.; four grandnieces; two grandnephews and the family’s three dogs Sasha, Annabel and Heidi.
Family requests donations to the MS Society in her name.
