Sertoma offers Cinco de Mayo Saturday
Bently Agridynamics will join the Carson Valley Sertoma Club in sponsoring the Valley’s first-ever Cinco de Mayo to be held Sunday, May 3, from noon to 5 p.m. at Minden park.
Jack Pirtle, Cinco de Mayo chairman, says the event is being promoted as a “cultural celebration” and will feature Mexican food by Abuela’s in Gardnerville, premium Mexican beer and margaritas, music by Dimension Latina, traditional dancers from South Lake Tahoe High School, pinatas for the kids and over $1,500 in raffle prizes donated by 30 businesses and organizations.
The grand prize will be a Napa Wine Country Bed and Breakfast and Wine Train get-a-way for two valued at $350.
Winners need not be present, although Pirtle says “being on hand for the celebration is a prize in and of itself.”
At noon, Carson Valley Radio Station KGVM will conduct a live remote from Minden Park to kickoff the event.
