Search continues for 16-year-old Mono County girl
Because there’s no evidence she was abducted, a 16-year-old Chalfant girl who has been missing since Oct. 13 wasn’t eligible for an Amber Alert.
Karlie Lain Gusé was last seen early Oct. 13 along Highway 6 not far from the tiny Mono County community near the Nevada border.
Gusé was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and gray sweatpants around 7:30 a.m. the day she disappeared.
She is described as 5-feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds with dark blonde hair and blue eyes.
Mono County Sheriff Ingrid Braun said Gusé is listed on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
“We are following all leads and tips and considering all possibilities,”Braun said over the weekend. “We interviewed all family and friends. For several days we conducted a search of the surrounding high desert, utilizing helicopters, scent dogs, off-road vehicles, and foot patrol.”
The search has also extended to the girl’s social media and electronic devices.
“Her family is fully cooperative, and we are in regular contact with them,” Braun said.
