Scolari’s barbecue will raise funds for United Way
An annual pledge drive for United Way takes place during the month of October at Scolari’s Food and Drug Co. in Gardnerville.
“Every year, we try to do an extra event to help raise even more money for United Way. This year, we’re putting on a barbecue, with all profits going to our pledge drive,” said Craig Ziglar, assistant manager at Scolari’s.
United Way helps children and families, promotes self-sufficiency and helps to build healthy communities, he said.
The barbecue will be held Friday, Oct. 27, from noon until the food is gone. It will be located directly in front of the store where Scolari’s barbecue takes place every weekend. This will be the last barbecue of the year.
“We’ll be cooking up tri-tips for $10 and half-chickens for $3.50. For $2, you’ll be able to purchase a hamburger or hot dog plate with chips and a drink,” Ziglar said. “We hope everybody can make it to the barbecue. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to give a little bit back to this wonderful community of the Carson Valley.”
