Scarselli Elementary teachers bring on the laughs with skit
The teachers of Scarselli Elementary School kicked off Christmas vacation for their students by performing a melodrama on Dec. 22.
The skit featured three rustlers who round up the Christmas cows so Santa Claus won’t come to Scarselli. The job of the Christmas cows is to sing, or rather, moo, and let Santa know to visit the students. But since the rustlers are in bad moods becuase of their uncomfortable shoes, they decide no one should have a Christmas.
At one point in the play, the cow rustlers went into the audience, getting students to help keep the cows under control.
All the students were involved by booing or cooing over a character when cards were raised up.
“I enjoyed the play very much. It’s very cute,” said custodian Carol Curran. “I remember reading the script one night and smiling to myself.”
After the play was finished, faculty and students sang Christmas carols until the bell rang, setting them free for vacation.
