Savor the Flavor coming this month
Soroptimist International of Carson Valley will sponsor the fourth annual Savor the Flavor wine and microbrew tasting Feb. 27 6 to 9 p.m. at the Sierra Nevada Golf Course.
“The event is the chance to see old friends and meet new ones,” said member Didi Chaney. “Enjoy sipping fine wine. Taste great brews and sample savory tidbits.”
Entertainment will be provided by George Hanepen and the Chorus of the Comstock.
“The fun doesn’t stop at wine, brews and food,” Chaney said. A drawing will take place for 100 pulls of the $3 Mega Bucks slot machine at the Carson Valley Inn. Tickets are available from any Soroptimist member and will be sold at the door. Winner need not be present to win.
Silent auction baskets featuring a variety of themes will be sold. Among the items to be included are cross-country ski package, Harley package, ClubSpa and Eagle Resorts package, fitness package and beer and wine memorabilia package and more.
Proceeds from this year’s silent auction will benefit the Family Support Council’s proposed shelter for victims of domestic violence.
Savor the Flavor ’99 tickets are $18 now or $25 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, Valley Do-It Center, Sharkey’s Nugget, Western Title, Nevada State Bank at Smith’s and Carson Valley market.
