Santa may need Rudolph to navigate Western Nevada

Staff Reports

Weather forecasters have Santa saying “snow, snow, snow” this year as they forecast a white Christmas.

With two days before Christmas, the National Weather Service is predicting a strong cold front that will move into Western Nevada on Christmas Eve.

Rain is forecast for Christmas Eve, turning to snow as the cold front moves through overnight into Christmas morning.

Up to 3 inches of snow is possible by Christmas morning with higher amounts likely above 5,000 feet.
