Sacajawea comes to Carson Valley museum Sunday
Bobbie Williams, a teacher of gifted and talented students at Scarselli Elementary School, will portray Sacajawea Sunday at the Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center.
Williams has been giving her Sacajawea presentation for 18 years. She has researched her subject and spent time in Montana where the Lewis and Clark expedition crossed the Rocky Mountains.
Sacajawea is the Native American woman who helped guide and translate for the expedition.
The presentation is part of the March National Women in History Month celebration at the cultural center, and is the final special event.
An exhibit called “Nevada Women: On the Road to Change, 1860-1920” from the Nevada State Museum is on display now in the main gallery.
Refreshments will be served. The presentation will be held at 1:30 p.m. and is free. The events are held as part of Carson Valley Historical Society’s ongoing commitment to serving the public.
