Rotary honors John Cressaty
The Minden Rotary Club honored member John Cressaty with the club’s annual Paul Harris Award at a dinner last week in the gazebo at David Walley’s Resort.
The club donated $1,000 in honor of Cressaty to the Rotary Foundation, thus making him a Paul Harris Fellow. Rotary International developed the Paul Harris Fellowship program as a way to recognize Rotarians for contributing at least $1,000 to the foundation.
Cressaty has devoted 10 years of outstanding service to the Minden club, and so members honored him by contributing the $1,000 to the foundation in his name. On hand were his sister Judy Williams and her husband Gary, Bill Shaw, Mike Hickey, Wayne (Rob) Robinson and Mike Schiller.
Presenting Cressaty with the fellowship was master of ceremonies John Hamer, and Ken Miller started the evening’s program by explaining the Paul Harris Fellowship.
Also recognized as being a Paul Harris Fellow was Greg Partamian, who began his contributions to the Rotary Foundation while a member in Southern California, where his funds were matched by his club. When he moved to Carson Valley, he continued his contributions and funds were matched by Minden Rotary as well. Recently, his total contributions amounted to more than $1,000.
