Rotary garage sale and auction is Saturday

Staff Writer

The annual Minden Rotary Auction and Garage Sale will be held from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Old Copeland Lumber Yard location at 1572 Highway 395 in Gardnerville.

Among the many items to be sold are hand power tools and portable generators, big screen televisions and five or six bicycles, power wood chipper and lawn mowers, exercise equipment and in-line skates, construction equipment and scaffolding, furniture and household goods, an engine hoist, auto parts and air compressor.

The club will sell barbecued lunches and drinks.

The auction starts at 10 a.m. and will featured a 1975 Ford 4×4 pickup, at a minimum bid of $500.

According to Minden Rotary member John Hamer, club members start collecting items from their home and from their friends and about every four or five years hold the “annual” garage sale.

“In addition to the treasures from our own members, we have acquired the contents of a few Stor-All units, and items from friends, relatives, etc., and really have some neat stuff to sell,” he said.

Parents are encouraged to take the kids and have some family fun, he said.
