Red flag warning issued for Western Nevada
A red flag warning is forecast for Sunday with low humidity and strong winds starting late in the morning.
The National Weather Service issued the warning for 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday as a very strong system pushes into the Pacific Northwest resulting in increasing winds across the region.
According to a wind advisory issued this afternoon, the strongest winds are expected to be north of Interstate 80, with a chance of visibility near a mile at times downwind from the Carson and Humboldt sinks.
Southwest winds are expected to pick up to 30 mph at about 11 a.m. in Carson Valley, gusting to 45 mph.
The high temperature is expected to reach 73 degrees on Sunday, remaining above 50 degrees on Sunday night.
No moisture is predicted to accompany the front for Carson Valley.
