Recreation offers day camps

Staff reports

Who says there’s nothing to do this summer? Try one of the three day camp programs offered by Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department.

All camps are for children 5 through 12 years of age. Camps include a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, games, field trips, swimming, cooking, drama, snacks and more.

Camp is open Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Adventure Camp, located at 1327 Waterloo Lane, is offered year-round for children attending the year-round schools.

Vacation Camp, for children enrolled in single track schools, will be held at Pinon Hills Elementary School and Gardnerville Elementary School.

Costs for the camps are $17 per day or $80 per week. Fees include all admissions. Spaces are limited, and parents are encouraged to pre-register at the recreation division, located at 1327 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville.
