Shannon Litz | The Record-Courier

The Record-Courier asked its readers what they were thankful for this year. Responses ranged from family, to receiving a good education. Thanks to everyone for sending in their letters, and have a great Thanksgiving.

When I wake up each and every morning, seeing weather, the sky or clouds, it’s still a very beautiful day. To wake up to a new day. Not a lot of people get to. I appreciate that I wake a great morning to my family, friends, and pets, I am thankful to have my family, friends and pets. I don’t have to have them. Though, I’m blessed enough that I do. My parents made me, my mother and grandmother feed and care for me. My sister, she helps me with everything. Be it homework, chores, or just plain company.

When I look out at the sunrise, I think of the day ahead. On Thanksgiving I’m going to think of what I’m thankful for. I’m thankful for many things, my parents first of all, my loving family, and my education. I’m thankful for my parents who make me feel safe and care for me. I’m like a baby bird ready to leave the nest but on the inside. I’m thankful for my loving family because without it there’s no future. What are you thankful for?

Tre Pimental, 11

There are a lot of things that I am thankful for but there are really on 3 things I am really thankful for. First is my family. I am an only child but my mom, dad, grndma, and grandpa are always there when I need them. The 2nd thing is how I have a roof over my head and clothes on my back. I also thank my mom and dad for working so hard to get money to make that possible. The final thing is that I live in our beautiful country…the U.S. I am thankful for a lot.

Have you ever thought of what you are thankful for? I am thankful for my dog name Titus and Ruger and my other dog name Gamma. When I am sad my dog will always cheer me up. Also I am thankful for my mom and dad who support me. Some things are so powerful in life. Life can be surprising. I am thankful for education because there is no life without it. Have you ever thought about what you are thankful for?

Every Thanksgiving I’m thankful for something, my parents, my pets, and my freedom. Those are the things I’m grateful for every day. My parents take care of me every day, and they are there for me whenever I need them. They pay for the house I live in and the food I eat. My pets give me unconditional love and are loyal to me as long as I love them. My freedom is one of the most important things of all. All those countries have dictators to rule. America is the best country in the world.

I’m thankful for my loving family, for the roof that is over my head, the great pets that I have, the wonderful neighbors that are near and far, to see the sun rise every morning like a rising, glowing gem in the sky. I am happy for my education that I receive. I am thankful for my clothes, for the food that is on the table, for my parents that keep me healthy. I am thankful for the freedom I have. I’m thankful for our soldiers keeping us safe. I’m thankful for all the wonderful things!

Every morning when I wake up I’m thankful to be alive. Every day I’m thankful that I have a family. I have food on my table and a roof over my head. I’m thankful for my mom, dad, and brother. I’m thankful for all my teachers who have taught me everything I know.

Elizabeth Gignac, 11

If someone asked me what I’m thankful for I feel like I would be talking for hours. I’m thankful so many things. My main reason is my parents. They are the best thing that has ever happened to me. They make my life unsurpassed of any other. The second influence on my life is my friends. They all love me for who I am, nothing more and nothing less. They are like my shield for life. I am thankful for many more things, but these are what I’m mainly thankful for.

Miya Connelly, 11

I go to church on Saturdays and I pray for God to take care of my family and other people. I’m thankful for all of the people for having food to eat every day. At last I’m excited like going on a rollercoaster. I wish that everyone has a good Thanksgiving Day.

Every second, minute, hour, and day I love my life no matter what. I love that I wake up and see my parents who love me copious. Also I love my superior brothers who love me profoundly. When I go to school 5 times a week I’m very grateful to have a commendable teacher who gives me the right to learn without judgment of my color or personality. I’m grateful for my friends that give me the power to be who I am. I know the world is not ideal, but my world is to me. For this, I’m thankful.

When I start my day I’m thankful to have great parents. My parents are divorced, but they’re thankful to have me as a daughter. I’m thankful to have my brother by my side to me up when I fall. Of course we fight, but that’s what every brother and sister do, they fight. My dad and my mom have always told me, “If you’re happy, I’m happy. I will always love you no matter what you do.” I’m thankful to have my family to be there and help me when I need it. I love them.

Every day I see my teacher my friends and my family I am just so thankful to have them. They keep me happy and they are very loving. It makes me so happy just to see them. When I go on a trip with my family I remember how much they have been saving and planning so I can have a good time. When I play with my friends it’s just like going to Disneyland. When I work on a project I remember that my teacher cares about my education.

Every day I think to myself, I’m blessed that I can see, I can hear, and that I can speak. I can hear and see like an eagle looking for food. I’m grateful for having a loving family, a roof over my head and food on the table. I’m blessed to have freedom of speech. Can’t thank my family enough for me and my siblings to be born in the United States and stay in the United States. Most of all, I’m thankful to my parents for always being there for me.

This Thanksgiving I’m thankful for many, many things. It’s time to be delightful for all things that we have. The things I’m thankful for could go on for hours, but I’m only going to name a few. I’m thankful for all the food that I eat because many, many people don’t have any food. The final thing is the family and pets I have. Many, many people don’t have pets and family. Pets and family are like a second heart to me.

Every day when I go to play with my friends, it’s a blessing. It is a blessing because I can have fun and enjoy life. I am also blessed because I have clothes and a roof over my head. If it weren’t for my dad’s hard work, I probably wouldn’t be here. He works constantly so my family can have food on the table. I am thankful for everything I have. I am happier than a person that won the lottery.

Travis Whitwam, 11

On Thanksgiving I want to tell my parents that I love them and that I’m thankful of having parents that love me a lot and that they give me a house to live in. They give me food and I have never stayed without eating because of my great as sun giving us sunlight in the planet. Let’s not forget about the friends. My friends are the ones that support me in everything. Also let’s say thank you to the person that gives you the knowledge. I say thank you to those kind people. I’m glad of them.

I am thankful for my family and all they have done for me. They support me when I try new things and they comfort me when I am down. I love them with all my heart and wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world. I am also thankful that I have God in my life and for where I live. I get to play soccer, go hiking, play with my friends, and have an all-around awesome life. I am thankful for all I am today and to God for making it happen. I am thankful for an amazing life.

Every morning when I wake up, I think Wow, I have a great life. Looking at the beautiful world waiting to greet me with, “Hello, nice to see you. Have a great day.” Then I go to school happy to see all my friends and receive a good education. When I go home, I see my family waiting to love me. I may not have a perfect life, but I do have a lot to be thankful for.
