Raley’s offers Add-A-Buck program in August

by Rosemarie Middendorf, Record-Courier staff writer

Raley’s Supermarket is again launching its “Add-A-Buck” promotion during the month of August for the participating “Food for Families” organizations.

The corporation consistently holds this mini-campaign the month of August. The annual promotion is a great opportunity for the general public to assist the non-profit food closets.

Raley’s encourages customers to assist the supermarket’s “Food for Families” program, which allows participating food closets to buy food at Raley’s cost with 100 percent of every dollar donated to the program. Raley’s absorbs all administrative costs of the program and donates $1,000 in meat products per store each Christmas for holiday baskets.

It is simple to drop a donation in the cash box available at the check stand or just ask the checker to add $1 or more to your grocery total. Your contribution will be printed clearly on your registry receipt for tax purposes. Your donation will go directly to participating food closets, which includes the Carson Valley Community Food Closet located in the Hussman Building at 1255 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville.

So, don’t forget, each time you visit Raley’s during August, you can assist in feeding the hungry with just a few coins or $1 or more.
