Raley’s focuses on Food for Families this month
August is a month for vacations, planning back-to-school activities and numerous other things. Sometimes we sort of forget about others who may be having a struggle to keep food on the table, which is a thought more prominent during holidays. Raley’s Supermarkets and Drug Centers want to help residents “feed the hungry” by focusing on their month of August “Food for Families” program.
Raley’s makes it easy to “Add-A-Buck” for the hungry by simply making a cash contribution in the canister located at each checkout stand or asking the checker to add $1 or more to your grocery total. Your contribution will be printed clearly on your receipt for your tax records, and 100 percent of your donation goes directly to non-profit food closets, which includes the Carson Valley Community Food Closet located in the Hussman Building at 1255 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville.
August is consistently a slow month for donations, but the working poor continue to find it hard to put food on the table. So, please, be generous during your next stop at the checkout counter at Raley’s Supermarket. Only you can help make Raley’s “Food for Families” program successful. The Carson Valley Food Closet and the recipients will appreciate your thoughtfulness and generosity.
