PWLMS comedies set Friday night

Area theatregorers can treat themselves to a pair of one-act comedies at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School Friday at 7 p.m.

The 8th grade drama class will perform “The Man in the Bowler Hat” and “My Gun is Pink.” Tickets are $2 for adults and $1 for students, children and seniors. They may be purchased at the door.

“The Man in the Bowler Hat” was written by A. A. Milne, author of Winnie-the-Pooh, and is a play within a play. Actors are Kyle Young and Erin Granat, Chris Frueh and Laura Valenzuela. Also in this play are Casy Lind, Chad Blankenship and Robert Stockton.

“My Gun is Pink” is a detective comedy set in the 1940s. In this show, however, all the stereotypical tough guys are women.

Actors include Stella Baldauskas, Cicely Williams, Jeremy Hardcastle, CJ Sharpsteen, Carol McCloskey, Renee Ruppel, Shannon Crawford, Janine Kuehn, Kristen Schell, Amy McGough, Steve Barr, Rose Barrett, Nicole Blummer and Saira Rodriguez.

All backstage work is managed by student crew members Ryan Griffith and Randy Frye, stage managers, Tyrel Dressler, effects manager, and Steve Barr and Nicole Blummer, lighting directors.
