President named for Lions club
The Carson Valley Lions Club recently installed Arnie Gardetto of Gardnerville as the new president.
Members gathered at the home of Arnie and Terry Gardetto, with Mike Shaughnessey acting as installation officer. Members of the new board of directors were also installed.
Numerous awards and certificates of appreciation were presented to many of the Lions:
Jim Peddicord was recognized for his work on the flag committee, and Berry Jones was acknowledged for his work on the “Great Garage and Manure Sale.”
Tom Cook was awarded Lion of the Year, and Jim Loughrey was honored with the Abdul Award. Charlie Serafine, outgoing president, handed out 12 perfect attendance pins.
The new board of directors are Arnie Gardetto, president; Jim Loughrey, first vice president; Chuck Morris, third vice president; Tom Cook, secretary; Lee Duncan, treasurer; Bill Lovelady, lion tamer; Debbie Hill, tail twister; Ray Tomalas and George Howard, two-year directors; and Jack Flannery and Bud Brown, one-year directors.
Charlie Serafine, stepping down as president, received the Harry Aslin Award and Past Presidents plaque.
