PHES Family Math Night a success

Staff reports

Parents and their students were invited to Pinon Hills second Family Math Night last week – and by all accounts it was a success.

Parents learned good ideas to help them help their children with math skills and gain an appreciation for math.

Hands-on projects, the use of manipulatives, an exposure to problem-solving skills, reasoning and the practical application of ideas learned added to the enjoyment of the event, said teacher Angie Coleman.

Teachers to help with the event were Karen Whitely, Joanna Kaiser, Angie Coleman, Diane Maurer, Karen Sullivan, Catherine Pellegrino, Mina Namiotka, Connie Crocker, Janet McDonnell, Cindy Orr, Chris Jezek, Sue Pike, Ed Hammond, Michele Burke, Unkyung Park-Johnson and Kim Robinson.
