Passionist Priest to be at St. Gall for revival

by Alice Gingrich

Even in the midst of an active faith life, we can sometimes experience a lull in the spirit. This is probably the reason the original evangelists, such as St. Peter and St. Paul, frequented the early church communities to rekindle the flames. For the early Christians, it was like standing near a fire to be warmed.

The Passionist Priests of Christ take a special first vow, binding themselves to keep alive the fire/memory of the Passion of Christ. St. Gall Catholic Community, along with all interested Christians and seekers of faith, are invited to come experience a “revival” in faith through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, presented by Father Cedric Pisegna, a Passionist Priest from the Retreat/Monastery Complex in Sacramento.

Father Pisegna graduated from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago in 1990, receiving his Master of Divinity degree with Bible specialization. He was ordained in 1991 and has facilitated retreats and missions throughout the United States and Canada.

During our mission (revival), Jesus will be moving, touching lives, healing and blessing his people. Through the good news, proclaimed to his people with open hearts, we can come to know God in a more deeply intimate and personal way.

Father Cedric says, “Special, grace-filled experiences have happened on every mission I’ve been involved with. It constantly amazes me how gracious and good our God is. We can believe and expect great things will happen in your parish (community), too.”

Whether you are in need of a re-awakening in faith or are looking for a positive life-changing experience, set aside the temporal busy-ness of everyday life for three nights, Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 12-14, beginning at 7:30 p.m. each evening, and “Come Encounter Jesus.”

The mission is open to the public and will be held at St. Gall Catholic Church, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Child care will be provided by reservation; call 782-2852. Transportation is available. Please contact Alice Gingrich at St. Gall Catholic Church, 782-2852, for additional information.
