Parks division offers Summer Family Concert series
The Douglas County Parks and Recreation Division will host the second year of “Summer Family Concerts” at the Minden Park gazebo, located at 5th and Esmeralda.
“The first year’s concerts were tremendously successful. We know this year’s will be even more successful,” said Diane McCoy, recreation spokesperson.

“The concerts are designed as a community and family event,” she said. “You are encouraged to pack a picnic and come relax in the shadow of the Minden Park gazebo and enjoy an evening of music.”
The concert schedule is:
n May 29, “Country Tradition,” country music.
n June 26, “Big Band Orchestra,” big band and orchestra.
n July 24, “The Outpsyders,” bluegrass and country.
n Aug. 7, “The Blues Monsters,” blues.
The concerts are free of charge because of the generous contributions of groups and businesses in the area, including Carson Valley Inn, Carson Valley Medical Center, Stockdale and Crum, Carson Valley Lions Club, Sharkey’s Casino, Gardnerville-Carson Valley Kiwanis, Carson Valley Sertoma, Syncon Homes and the Town of Minden.
