Parks and recreation offers weapons class
The Douglas County Parks and Recreation Division will conduct a concealed weapon certification course for ages 18 and up, instructed by Wynn Simon.
The course is an NRA-personal protection course which is recognized in both California and Nevada as approved for concealed weapon carry permit applicants. The participant, whether beginner or advanced, will be encouraged in the safe use of firearms. Course will conclude with live fire exercises on the range, along with a state mandated qualification shoot. Class handouts and textbooks are included in the price of the course.
Class will be conducted Wednesday, June 9, to Friday, June 11, with the live fire exercises taking place on Saturday or Sunday. The class fee is $90 and includes a one year membership to NRS.
