Parks and recreation offers teen open gym on weekends
The Douglas County Parks and Recreation Division will conduct a teen open gym program for grades 7-12 Friday and Saturday nights from 7-10 p.m.
The Friday night program will take place in the old gym of the Carson Valley Middle School, located at 1475 Highway 395 in Gardnerville, and the Saturday program will be held at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School, 701 Long Valley Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
The teen open gym is designed to give students a place to hang out with their friends. They can play basketball, volleyball, foosball, board games or just listen to music in a safe, supervised environment.
The program is sponsored by the Partnership of Community Resources and is offered free of charge to all students. For further information, contact the recreation division at 782-9828.
