Parents may learn about laws governing rights for kids with disabilities
The Nevada PEP group, which helps parents understand laws governing the rights of children with disabilities and helps parents advocate for their children, will hold a individual education plan (IEP) clinic on two Saturdays, Jan. 27 and March 24, in the Valley.
The clinics will be held at the Family Support Council office, 1255 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Parents will learn how to be an effective participant in the individualized education plan process. The clinic will offer information about rights and laws that pertain to students with disabilities, and all participants will receive a free Nevada PEP Parent Planner, an organizational tool for parents.
Parents may go over the IEPs for their children with Nevada PEP staff.
Space is limited, so reservations are recommended. For information, call (775) 448-9950.
