Thanks for help
January 3, 2012
The Young At Heart Senior Citizens Club would like to express its gratitude to those individuals and organizations that assisted in and contributed to the Christmas gift bag program for Douglas County homebound seniors and other needy senior citizens.
This year we distributed 140 large shopping bags full of gifts and canned hams. The recipients of these gifts were thrilled to receive these bags of presents. In some cases they were the only gifts which they would be given during this holiday season.
Special recognition should be given to Annette Muller of Young At Heart who coordinated this project; the parishioners of Saint Gall Catholic Church who provided the largest contribution; the Carson Valley Girl Scouts who made Christmas cards for both the gift bag recipients and the Douglas County Senior Center attendees; Scolaris Food and Drug Co. which once again provided all of the bags; The Record-Courier and Nevada Appeal who publicized this project: and the Douglas High School Key Club and DART who participated in the distribution of the bags.
We had many other contributors too numerous to identify here but we would like to express our appreciation to all of them for making this a very successful humanitarian holiday program.
