Sheriff’s deputy in Mrs. Nevada pageant
February 27, 2016
Carson Valley's own Mrs. Congeniality, Nadine Chrzanowski, is competing in the Mrs. Nevada-America pageant in Las Vegas.
The event is held at the Suncoast Hotel and Casino.
Nadine is an investigator with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. The charity that will benefit from her participation is the Family Support Council.
You can vote for Nadine at http://www.mrsnevadaamerica.com, by clicking on delegates and finding Nadine's picture.
Be prepared to donate some money if you go there, though. Votes are a dollar a pop, and there's a minimum $5 donation.
I've had the opportunity of taking Nadine's picture in a couple of different circumstances. No matter whether she'd just run four miles for the sheriff's relay or there was some publicity thing for the sheriff's office, her instructions to me were always the same — "No bad pictures."

I'm not sure if former District Attorney's Office Manager Jan Budden is making homemade jam, but from the jelly jars she got at her retirement party, there's certainly an expectation.
Staffers lined up to give her the jars, and there was a contract of some sort read by District Attorney Mark Jackson that sounded like it bound her to make the jam, a jar of which was auctioned off for $100 at her Jan. 29 party.
Jan might want to look into setting up some sort of manufacturing operation. I'm sure she could find legal representation to handle the legal paperwork for the price of a jar or two.
